NOPP: ISSC+ CERTIFIED IRPLAST S-BOPP FILMS
Made from certified renewable material from bio-based feedstock (tall oil) NOPP FILMS range by Irplast is carbon neutral.
The IRPLAST range of NOPP films (Natural Oriented PolyPropylene), manufactured in partnership with SABIC, is carbon neutral by replacing fossil fuels in the production of polypropylene resin with bio-based tall oils. The waste vegetable oils are not of animal origin and do not compete with the food chain as they are a recovered by-product of the responsibly managed northern European forest industry.
Compared to an equivalent BOPP film manufactured using traditional fossil-fuel sources, every kg of bio-based renewable source BOPP takes 4 Kg of CO₂ emissions out of the environment (LCA by Spinlife, a spin-off company of Padua University – Italy). Produced in Europe by the mainstream petrochemical industry using the mass balance system, our NOPP films range has obtained International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) for our segregated production process, guaranteeing the solidity of the chain of custody, from raw material production to packaging supplies. IRPLAST NOPP films range is food contact approved and 100% recyclable.
