The use of raw materials derived from renewable sources and chemical recycling, together with the reuse of production waste, has enabled the development of innovative sustainable solutions (GREENLINE). These solutions ensure the same high technical performance as traditional adhesive tapes while significantly reducing CO₂ emissions.
Empoli (FI), September 2025 – IRPLAST showcases innovative sustainable packaging solutions at FACHPACK 2025 (Hall 3, Booth 3-203), Europe’s leading packaging trade fair, taking place in Nuremberg (Germany) from September 23 to 25.
The spotlight will be on the GREENLINE range, a portfolio of sustainable adhesive tapes made with circular LOOPP and biocircular NOPP and NOPP+ raw materials. Among the main innovations: AIRTAPE (–30% plastic) and ECO+100 tape, produced in-house with 100% regranulated BOPP film. At the top of the range is NOPP+, an adhesive tape made of film from 100% natural-origin sources and a biocircular adhesive, recognized and ISCC PLUS certified as carbon neutral (zero CO₂ emissions).
IRPLAST’s full range of sustainable films includes:
- NOPP (Natural Oriented Polypropylene): derived from renewable sources such as tall oil and resins from wood-processing waste.
- NOPP+: produced with vegetable-based waste raw materials (UCO – used cooking oil), which do not involve the exploitation of agricultural land (no-ILUC) or animal derivatives.
- LOOPP: made from pyrolysis oil obtained through chemical recycling of post-consumer material.
All NOPP, NOPP+ and LOOPP films are suitable for every sector currently using BOPP.

The central role of sustainability in IRPLAST’s business model has led to the reduction of film thickness, the increased use of raw materials derived from both chemical recycling and renewable sources, as well as the recovery and recycling of materials within a new production cycle. This has enabled the development of recyclable monomaterial multilayer packaging solutions (ideal replacements for multimaterial and more complex structures) that comply with new European regulations such as the PPWR. These films deliver the same technical and mechanical properties as those produced with virgin raw materials, ensuring the high technical performance of traditional adhesive tapes while significantly reducing CO₂ emissions.
In 2019, IRPLAST was the first company in Europe in the food packaging sector to introduce to the market solutions made from both renewable and chemically recycled post-consumer raw materials, ISCC PLUS certified. These films offer the same technical performance and food-contact compliance as their counterparts made with virgin raw materials.
