Visit us in Düsseldorf from May 7–13, Hall 10 / D44.
In May 2026, IRPLAST will participate in Interpack together with TOPPAN, marking the first joint presence at Europe’s leading packaging exhibition.
This participation reflects our shared commitment to supporting the transition toward more circular and performance-oriented flexible packaging solutions within the evolving European regulatory framework.
Addressing the Evolving PPWR Landscape
The European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) introduces progressive recycled content targets for plastic packaging starting from 2030.
For certain food-contact polypropylene applications, recycled content levels of 10% have been proposed, subject to final implementing acts and technical specifications.
These regulatory developments highlight the importance of material innovation, supply chain readiness, and responsible sourcing strategies across the industry.
Supporting Recyclability and Material Efficiency
At Interpack 2026, IRPLAST and TOPPAN will present film solutions developed with a focus on:
- Monomaterial structures
- Mechanical and functional performance
- Process compatibility
- Design considerations aligned with recyclability principles
These solutions aim to balance technical requirements typical of FMCG applications with increasing sustainability expectations.
LISIM 2026
In 2026, IRPLAST will inaugurate its new LISIM stretching line supplied by Brückner.
The new line is designed to significantly increase the production capacity of specialty films.
It is specialized in the manufacture of five-layer BOPP films with thicknesses ranging from 15 µm to 50 µm.
The line will be fully dedicated to the development and production of specialty films engineered by IRPLAST’s in-house R&D team.
Developments in Circular Raw Material Pathways
Recent European regulatory discussions increasingly acknowledge chemical recycling pathways under mass balance accounting mechanisms, particularly in relation to recycled content attribution.
While implementation frameworks continue to evolve, these developments may contribute to expanding the availability of certified circular raw materials for flexible packaging applications in the coming years.
Meet Us at Interpack 2026
We look forward to discussing how integrated material expertise and international collaboration within the TOPPAN Group can support your packaging strategy in a changing regulatory environment.
