IRPLAST AWARDED AS “COMPANY OF THE YEAR” FOR INTEGRATED ESG FINANCE

FAUSTO COSI AMONG THE “100 MANAGERS OF THE YEAR”
BY FORBES ITALIA

IRPLAST has been recognized as the Italian company with the best performance in Integrated ESG Finance, receiving the award from the Politecnico di Milano.
This achievement comes after numerous milestones reached by the Company, which in 2025 has become part of the Japanese multinational group TOPPAN.
With a determined and pioneering leadership style, Fausto Cosi is preparing to lead IRPLAST into a new phase of growth across international markets, driven by continuous investments in innovation and sustainability.

Empoli (FI), 15th of October 2025 – IRPLAST won the Sustainability Award as “Company of the Year” for Integrated ESG Finance, promoted by Kon Group, ELITE (Borsa Italiana), and Azimut, for transformative and incremental innovation and partnership capabilities. IRPLAST’s significant investments in sustainability have driven a profound transformation of its business processes and models, generating tangible value. Strategic partnerships with customers and suppliers aimed at developing complementary expertise have also created a distinctive growth factor. These results confirm the reliability and robustness of the Company’s approach to the responsible management of environmental, social, and governance risks. This remarkable achievement was made possible through concrete investments that have accelerated IRPLAST’s transition towards a circular economy. The prestigious award is reserved for the best Italian companies distinguished by their commitment to sustainable development, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

Fausto Cosi, Chief Executive Officer of IRPLAST S.p.A., has been included in the list of Forbes Italia’s “Top 100 Managers of the Year.” The renowned magazine, famous for its annual rankings of the most influential figures in the economic and financial world, selected Cosi for his established leadership and strategic vision — recognizing the value of his work, which has enabled the Company’s consistent growth, culminating in its entry in 2025 into the Japanese multinational group TOPPAN.

The “Sustainability Awards 2025” ceremony took place on Tuesday evening, 14th October, in Milan, at the headquarters of Italian Stock Exchange, where Mr. Fausto Cosi attended together with some of his colleagues.

IRPLAST is a vertically integrated Italian company specialized in the production of simultaneously oriented BOPP films, labels and adhesive tapes.

Driven by a business model focused on environmental sustainability, IRPLAST has invested in reducing film weight and thickness, developing fully recyclable solutions, and reusing production waste.

“This dual recognition is an honor,” stated Fausto Cosi, “but at the same time it represents a great responsibility — that of continuing to lead with foresight a company which, thanks to a major industrial project focused on innovation and sustainability, is preparing to face complex challenges in international markets.

The investment of over €60 million in the Atessa plant confirms our firm belief in focusing on high value-added specialty products, progressively moving away from the commodity segment, where we are no longer competitive.

Sustainability is, for us, a true business driver: we were among the first companies to invest in the production of films made from recycled and non-fossil feedstocks, and we have set ourselves the ambitious goal of achieving by 2030 a production fully based on non-fossil materials.”

Fausto Cosi, a seasoned executive with over thirty years of experience in the financial sector, has held prominent positions in leading companies such as Mukki, Sammontana, and the Mauro Saviola Group.

A shareholder of IRPLAST and Chief Executive Officer since 2010, he has guided the company through a profound process of strategic transformation and sustainable growth.

Under his leadership, IRPLAST has strengthened its competitive position and significantly expanded its presence in international markets, successfully completing its turnaround plan. This path led the company, in 2025, to become part of the Japanese industrial group TOPPAN — a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions — while Cosi retained his dual role as CEO and shareholder.

His authority is also recognized at the institutional level: he served for seven years as President of ANDAF (National Association of Administrative and Financial Directors) and for three years as Global President of IAFEI (International Association of Financial Executives Institutes), enhancing his standing within the international financial community. Known for his discreet yet determined leadership style, Fausto Cosi embodies the model of a modern leader — results-oriented, strategically minded, and deeply committed to sustainable development, with proven ability to guide teams effectively in complex contexts.
